The Alumni Innovation Award is offered every year to promising graduates that have innovative ideas and offer help and advice to take this innovative idea to market. Award winners are supported to develop their ideas into viable businesses, encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs. With the help of the SetSquared network and an award-winning business incubation programme, the scheme will help Flinke launch the business to make a true global impact.
Waleed, Founder & CEO of Flinke, joined the Entrepreneurship Program in his final year at University to learn more about entrepreneurship. His drive was mainly fuelled by a supply chain problem that he has been seeing in their family business and other companies. As COVID-19 and Brexit occurred, the supply chain disruption has exacerbated and many businesses failed to meet demand.
This was the rise of Flinke – a cloud-based platform that connects all stakeholders involved in the supply chain process. Ranging from transportation providers, custom clearing agencies, fulfillment warehouses, senders, and receivers to work closely together on one platform. Combining all these stakeholders under one platform would allow the receiver to streamline the process and make informed decisions to avoid any supply chain disruptions.
